Weekly Resources | Goal Setting for Bloggers

Are you tired of hearing the same advice time and time again when it comes to goal setting. You KNOW how to set goals, but finding the right goals for you, and actually reaching those goals is whole other story. 

In my head, I love goal setting. But, when I really sit down to think about it, I can’t remember the last time I actually sat down to write a goal that I wanted to achieve. Sure, I come up with ideas and often think about what I want to accomplish. But, actually writing something down, creating actionable steps, and breaking it down into manageable chunks….. yeah, those are things I never do. 

Even just writing that sounds pathetic. I’m a hard-working, self-employed, working mom. Why am I not focused on writing and hitting goals regularly? 

Luckily, it’s not too late to change that. 

Pretty much everywhere you look you can find information on how to set goals, how to write SMART goals, things we’ve all heard before. 

So instead of sharing five things you’ve absolutely heard before, I’ve found five blog post that share a different perspective on goal setting, and achieving them! 

 Five resources to help you actually accomplish your goals. Goal setting doesn't have to be hard. 

1- Setting goals when you feel stuck is a struggle. I loved Rachel Gadiel’s advice for going back to where it all started your mission statement. I always trying to ask myself, does this ultimately help me take a step forward. She also has 3 more ways to help you get unstuck and take action toward your goals. 

2. “The most important thing is to learn to enjoy the process, without being attached to the result.” from Creative Summer Studio

Wait, what? Totally a change of perspective for me. 

I LOVED this article, it spoke volumes to me. It’s if you don’t hit every goal, but enjoy the process.

3. Ruth from Elite Blog Academy, says the secret to achieving your goals is to work on your goals every single day, with no exceptions. No ifs, ands, or buts. Sound advice, right?

This is absolutely something I haven’t done. I’ve been brainstorming ways that I can work towards my goal, even on my “days off.” No step is too small. 

4. Denise Duffield-Thomas has some really creative ways to help you “write” goals, different ways to ultimately get you to the same place. These are totally outside of the normal numbered list! 

I love her throw everything at perspective! I’m willing to try everything to help me reach my goals.

5. This one isn't even out yet, but I’m sharing it because it sounds perfect for me & you too. I often feel like typical goal setting strategies don’t work for me, although I’m working to change that.  I feel like this such an interesting perspective, I have to read it. I’m a huge fan of one of the authors, Reina Pomeroy. She’s very down to earth and relatable, so I’m really looking forward to reading this book.
