Behind the Design: Haven Fibers
My favorite part of my work is truly that I get to help other people bring their passion to life. That’s what makes my heart really happy. I realized I loved helping other’s with their branding when a man came into my print shop to get a logo done for his new landscaping business and left with the biggest grin. His business was coming to life with my help.
This is the exact same reason I absolutely LOVED helping Heather from Haven Fibers with her new branding and website. Heather had a dream of opening a boutique like creative sanctuary. A place where she could share her lover of fiber crafting with others. A place where people gather to work on their latest needlepoint or crochet project enjoy the company of each other. You can read about her dream here, it’s beautiful vision for a beautiful place.
Bringing Heather’s vision to life was really fun. She want a bright, colorful and exciting style and also wanted it to feel upscale and sophisticated. She really loves the full spectrum of colors, and purple is her favorite.
I was really excited when Heather decided to go with this logo. It was the first concept I created and it just felt right when I was designing it. I really love how the “fibers” resembles a string in an embroidery, it helps weave the text together just like fiber crafting does.
Heather’s brand really came to life once I started working on her website. I was able to pull in Heather’s love for color by using photos with multi colored features and white backgrounds. It really makes the color POP! Since we decided to go with brightly colored images, I ended up pulling her color scheme more toward the darker shades; pink, purple, and blue.
I really love working on packages that include websites and branding because it allows me to add in details that otherwise get skipped. The custom icons for different brand categories and the knit pattern background are two favorites.
And since Haven Fibers is an actual location, we did a few really fun print pieces, these loyalty cards really turned out great and will be a fantastic marketing tool for Heather!
Haven Fibers is located in Taneytown, Maryland, however, I have it on good authority that she will be sharing some amazing tutorials and patterns soon!
